Red dot sights are basically meant for faster acquisition of targets. They are used for aiming targets within 100 yards and even works well for the longer range. Generally, red dot sights don’t have the magnification feature which affects the precision of the target.
Red dot sights are mostly mounted on firearms and shotguns in order to enhance the accuracy of the shooters. Earlier, shooters were not familiar with the red dot sights. They were more comfortable with the traditional iron sights.
A red dot sight is diversely used in the devices that require aiming. It allows the user to see the target in the form of an illuminated red dot. Well, it’s not necessary that the user will always see the red colored dot.
A shotgun is a firearm which is specially designed to target small and moving objects. You need not aim precisely while using a shotgun. It fires several small spherical pellets called shots at a time.
Red dot sights are usually non-magnifying reflex sights mostly used for AR15 firearms, shotguns and handguns. The shooter gets the aim point in the form of a perceptible illuminated red dot.
